Asian hair care?

Does anyone have any hair product advice for someone with Asian hair?

My scalp is slightly oily. The area closest to my roots is a little poofy and has random little pieces sticking out. The rest of my hair is long, thick and straight...Sometimes there are "flyaways" from static and the dry air here. I do blow-dry it a few times a week, but I always use a diffuser and never blow-dry it 100%, so it's not "ovedry." Moisturizing shampoos/conditioners and frizz serums seem to actually make my hair worse...

Any help?

Using "Castor Oil" on hair is good? or bad?

I know this might sound bit weird to all of you, but i want to know using "Castor Oil" to comb the hair and get that mafia look is bad for hair or not? because one of my friends told me that Castor Oil can make hair to prematurely turn gray. is there any truth behind this?, I am using "Castor Oil" because i am very sensitive to hair gels and most hair care products do give me really bad headaches, Castor oil easily does not dry up as other things and it stays the way i like to but i am bothered about my friends comment.

Using "Castor Oil" on hair is good? or bad?

Hi. Don''t worry yourself over this one. The only way your hair is going to turn gray is to do it naturally or if you colored it with a chemical and it ended up looking gray. This is obviously a myth..or perhaps the friend that told you this has tried it and the color of their hair and the combination of the oil might have made their hair look grayish or something. But it's nothing a little bit of shampoo won't take care of. Now it is possible for the oil to cause a build up on the hair and when you get a build up it can tend to have a gray look. If you use it regularly, I would suggest a weekly clarifying shampoo. You can find clarifying shampoos anywhere shampoo is sold. They are safe to use everyday unless you have extremely dry hair..which I doubt is true with you since you are using this oil on your hair. I have blonde hair and some of the products that I have used have caused a buildup on my hair and it has caused it to have a grayish tint. When this happens I usually use a clarifying shampoo to help remove the build-up..and if it's really bad, I mix a little baking soda in with the shampoo to make it like a paste and shampoo my hair with it, leave it on for a couple of minutes then rinse thouroughly. This will remove any buildup..and I would imagine that castor oil would probably cause a buildup after continous use. Hope this helps you with your question..and don't worry..you are not going to go gray by using castor oil!

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

I came across two different hair care products that work really good with dry/damaged hair and my hair is really damaged I've bleached it 4 times in a row then decided to die it back to its original color and now my hair is really long and dry with all kinds of split ends and breakage and its way to light I want it to be heavier so I was wondering what you think will be the best for my hair between:

Biolustre Rescue EMS Instant Repair

or

Phyto

What do you think....

or

Do you have any ideas??

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

There is a product I use by VO5 that comes in individual packets - you buy 3 in a package. I'm not at home right now so I'm not positive of the name, but it's called 'Deep Conditioning Cream' or Mask. Anyway ,there is only the one type. It's a really thick orange colored conditioner and works extremely well. I have extra curly hair and I use this at least once a month because it works great.

My sister had a problem after dying her hair once and I gave her some of this stuff and now she uses it all the time too.

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

you need to cut your hair, and start using "silk" you can find it in any professional hair store. I had to learn the hard way....

cutting it will make it healthy, and the "silk" will make it soo soft, and protect it from further damage, so it can grow back nicely.

p.s. my moms a hairdresser....thats EXACTLY what I had to do

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

I've never heard of either product you listed but I have a few ideas for you.

Try a deep conditioning treatment. The best ones are sold at professional supply stores but if you don't know someone with a cosmetology licsense this won't help you. You can also buy them at Sally's and some drug stores.

After you wash your hair put the treatment all over and then wrap your hair tightly in a damp towel. If you have a hooded dryer it works best to sit under it for an hour otherwise you can hold a blow dryer to it for an hour. Kind of a pain in the *** I know.

Do you have straight hair? A flat iron is the best way to reduce frizz, although the heat can sometimes damage your hair also.

A good line to try a damage fixing conditioner is Back to Basics, or Biolage. I hope this helps. My mom owns a hair salon, so I've tried a lot of products.

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

Cholesterol Treament.

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

start off with cutting off the split ends..

then i would go to a salon and ask a stylist what you should do..

they always have really great advice!

also if you use heat on your hair a lot.. be sure to use heat protectant! (:

good luck

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

I have long, thick, black american indian hair (I'm white and sioux). I have tried many hair care products but they just don't work for me, and my hair grows really fast so if I cut it short I will need a haircut very often. Yet still, I was wondering if anyone thought I should get my hair changed to look more like young white guys ( with the real short, spiked, light hair like you see in magazines or on MTV). I want to know if this will make me more attractive to white girls.

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

"I want to know if this will make me more attractive to white girls."

Yeah, the shallow ones anyway. But then again, are those the ones you really want attracted to you? Why hide your indian heritage?? Be proud of it and show it off! I'd keep your hair the way it is and just be yourself. No use trying to be someone or something you aren't just to attract someone. It'd be too much upkeep later in life to try to keep that look up and such a shame to hide your true self. I say it's not worth it. Be you! And let you beautiful heritage show!

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

no you shouldnt change if the girls dont like you with out having you change your hair then they dont deserve you

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

idk but i might grow my hair out long cuz im indian and got olive skin, i know my mom like guys with long hair lol

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

Nope. I like uniqueness, whether it is in hairstyles, clothes or personality. You do not need to change yourself to look like some posers on MTV to be liked by "white girls". Just be who you are, and look like you want to look. I think your hair sounds cute ^_^

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

What makes a person appealing is simply being the true you!

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

you do not need to change for anyone

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

personaly i like guys with long hair its kind of sexy but i'm not picky so do what you want its your hair

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

Stick with the hair that you have, I mean you shouldn't have to change your appearance for someone to like you , but if you do, then that person is not right for you. If that person doesn't like you for who you are, find someone who will. Your life will be so much less complicated that way.

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

I think you should keep your hair the way it is. You shouldn't have to change who you are for any one

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

absolutely NOT... You be who you are... there are girl out there who will love your long hair... do not change for any woman.. because evenually you will go back to being yourself and then where would you be... be yourself....

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

Dude..I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. You don't have to go poseur just to make some "white girl" like you. My bf's hair is about shoulder-length (well, it was anyway..he's getting a hair cut) but anyway i wouldn't love him any less. The way your hair looks shouldn't determine whether or not a girl should like you. Personally, I would hate to be with somebody who only wants me for my looks. Just be you and when the right chick comes along, then you'll know. I wouldn't change a thing if i were you.

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

I don't see how hair will change you so much. I think that you should do what makes you happy. If you like short hair on yourself, then cut your hair and get it cut as often as it needs to be. But if you are only cutting your hair to be liked by white girls, then it is a waste of time and energy. One of these days someone will love everything about you including your hair.

Hair care tips:

Apply little or no heat to your hair

wash and condition it your hair once or twice a week

don't brush you hair, use a wide tooth comb

If your hair is tangled, use detangler

wrap your hair up at night with a silk scarf

relax your hair every 6-8 weeks (if you get perms)

MOST IMPORTANTLY! Get you ends clipped every 4-6 weeks or as often your beautician tells you.

No ponytails! They do not grow your hair, it breaks off your edges, and split your ends. If your going to wear ponytails please don't wear them often.

Can someone give me hair care tips for african-american hair?

I try to get a perm every 6 weeks. I also wrap my hair at night to keep it from rubbing out. I keep my hair in a ponytail now so that it can grow out. Having your hair in braids also helps it to grow. Use a perm with no lye in it and also follow the directions carefully. Go to a salon and get your hair did=) and ask the beautician what is the best way to maintain good healthy hair ( i would go to a black beautician) Also eating healthy helps your hair. And grease that scalp to stop itching. I use African Pride perms and Panteen Pro V shampoo's and conditioners ( the ones in the brown bottles) When shampoo bottles say 'normal hair' up there they are not referring to black people. Use something that has a detangler in it.

It's a simple ingredient thing. STAY AWAY from products with mineral oil in it! It will cause your hair to break! Try to stay away from chemically treating your hair too if your hair is prone to breakage.

Try using Redkens products and BioSilk products! Typically these products are generated for caucasians, they are excellent on african american hair. :] Keep your hair moisturized with deep and leave in conditioners as well.

Feel free to email me if you have anymore questions! It took me YEARS to learn what works best with my hair, but I finally figured it out! Good luck! :]

Can someone give me hair care tips for african-american hair?

If you want your hair to grow you have to have a healthy scalp. Everything you put in your body affects what you look like on the outside. Add a women's multi-vitamin to your diet. I'm black and I've had hair halfway down my back, and I've also had hair 2 inches long. For the hair you already have on your head- use a leave-in conditioner, heat protecting products like thermasilk or biosilk, wash your hair everyother day to protect hair's natural oils, and always air dry or use a diffuser. Good luck, and love yourself no matter what your hair looks like!

What do you think of Arbonne hair products?

is it good for hair care?

What do you think of Arbonne hair products?

Although I am an Arbonne Independent Consultant, I am also a consumer and personally like them for myself. Just a little information on the products for you.....They're made with nanosphere technology that allow the products to self adjust to hair's daily changing needs. They're also made with natural ingredients, including natural oils, and licorice to help protect hair and have benefits such as blocking the production of DHT, a metabolite of testosterone that can actually destroy the hair follicle, and give hair the best defense against time and age. The products including shampoo, conditioner, and shampoo with tea tree oil are good for all hair types, even color treated hair.

If you're considering trying the products, Arbonne offers a 45 day money back guarantee if you're not 100% satisfied with them. Good luck.

What do you think of Arbonne hair products?

YES ITS BEST FOR HAIR CARE

What do you think of Arbonne hair products?

I used the PH Balanced stuff, and it made my hair extremely greasy. I used if for about 3 months, thinking with continued use, it would go away, but it didnt, so I don't recomend it.

Has anyone used the infatreat hair care range yet ? if so do you like it ?

I have extremely dry and course hair and someone told me to try the infatreat range, I was just wondering if anyone has tried it yet, and if so what do you think is it any good... if not what other hair products do you use if your hair happens to be like mine.

Has anyone used the infatreat hair care range yet ? if so do you like it ?

Its alright, I usually use a conditioning hair mask if my hair is particularly dry. If you use alot of heat on your hair like dryers, straightners and tongues, dry a heat defence product as this will be adding to your dry hair.
