I had a sample of the color protect by redken shampoo and conditioner and my hair came out great.but I dont have color treated hair.I do chemically treat it to straighten it.and I also use a semi permanant hair color maybe once every three months but it washes out after like 8 washes.Is this just a gentle shampoo/conditioner when its for color treated?

Yep...most of the color treated hair products are extra gentle so they don't strip the hair color. Given the fact that you have chemically straitened hair, it would be perfect for you. If you like it and it works well I would just continue using it.
