if she is getting her hair done professionally it may be upwards 2000 dollars a year. if her and her ghetto *** friends are creating some hairdos in the kitchen , maybe 25 dollars a month for relaxers, fake hair(not good quality fake hair) and glue.

Okay, I'm black with a type 4b curl to my hair so I think I'm qualified to answer you question! The answer depends on the woman. A type 4b curl is the tightest possible curl you can have. Personaly, I've spend about $800 a year just on chemical relaxing. In the past I've also had extensions that cost about anywhere from $90 - $600 a year depending on the type. I don't know how much I've spend of salon products to try and slow the breakage from processing my hair. Actually, earlier this year I cut off all the processing since my hair was so damaged and shaved it down very close to my head. I now have all natural hair in a very, very short style that only cost me about $150 a year to maintain. There are alot if good articles online about women of color and their hair issues. Many women like me (type 4b curl) wind up shaving it off and wearing it natural. Good luck with your paper.

I'm half black, half Filipino and I honestly don't spend much money at all. My hair doesn't get too curly or frizzy so I spend maybe 30 dollars on conditioner. Or when I dye my hair, that's maybe $60. Uhh, but honestly what kind of assignment is this? Whoever assigned it must not be aware that not all black women rely on hair care products.

you can't say how much black women spend on hair annually because it varies greatly...it would be the same as asking how much white women spend on hair annually, there's no way of knowing...you can do a poll and find an average but that's as close as you can get. I personally only spend $45-$50 on my hair annually because my hair is naturally %26amp; i do my hairstyles myself.

Its 20billion dollar industry. . . . .

How much do Black Women spend annually on hair care products?

It's a very expensive industry ...

I personally, going to a shop every week you're looking at 25.00 a week = 1200.00 a year and add an additional 300.00 a yr for the hair products to keep in the home.

If you're doing it your self ... you're looking at 72.00 a yr for perms (that's if you perm once a month) and you're looking at 300.00 a yr on products ... (give or take a few, that included everything my Maya said, I think that's her name)

wink
